To achieve justice, freedom and dignity for all Palestinians and Israelis, regardless of religion and ethnicity, we work toward the following 10 objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Promoting\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pij.org\/details.php?id=478\" target=\"_blank\">Palestinian self-determination<\/a><br><\/li><li>Ending the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.peacecouncil.net\/pnl\/january-2013-pnl-820\/report-from-gaza\" target=\"_blank\">siege of Gaza<\/a><br><\/li><li>Ending the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/america.aljazeera.com\/multimedia\/2014\/7\/west-bank-security.html\" target=\"_blank\">occupation<\/a>\u00a0of the West Bank and East Jerusalem<br><\/li><li>Ending\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.peacecouncil.net\/pnl\/may-2014-pnl-834\/first-summit-to-reassess-the-special-relationship-between-the-us-and-israel\" target=\"_blank\">U.S. military aid<\/a>\u00a0to Israel, to Palestine and to the region<br><\/li><li>Implementing with justice the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/indepth\/opinion\/2011\/09\/2011922135540203743.html\" target=\"_blank\">Palestinian right of return<\/a><br><\/li><li>Dismantling<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.seamac.org\/equalrights.htm\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0Israeli apartheid<\/a>\u00a0(the legal and cultural structures of discrimination and racist separation)<br><\/li><li>Liberating Israeli-held\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hrw.org\/news\/2016\/03\/24\/israel-atypical-detention-and-typical-judicial-review\" target=\"_blank\">political detainees<\/a><br><\/li><li>Providing\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ethicsandinternationalaffairs.org\/2015\/transitional-justice-in-israelpalestine-symbolism-and-materialism-in-reparations-for-mass-violence\/\" target=\"_blank\">reparations to Palestinians<\/a>\u00a0for destroyed lives and infrastructure (including olive groves, demolished homes and depleted resources)<br><\/li><li>Restoring\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.haaretz.com\/middle-east-news\/1.574554\" target=\"_blank\">Palestinian water rights<\/a><br><\/li><li>In the context of a nuclear-free Middle East , abolishing weaponized drones and nuclear weapons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We believe that to understand the complexities of the Israel\/Palestine issue, one must view Israel, like the U.S. itself, as a colonial settler state. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Approved March 2016.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Justice for Palestine Committee emerged within the Syracuse Peace Council in the wake of Israel\u2019s 2008 invasion of Gaza.
