Neighbors of the Onondaga Nation (NOON) is a grassroots organization of Central New Yorkers which recognizes and supports the sovereignty of the traditional government of the Onondaga Nation. A program of the Syracuse Peace Council, NOON supports the right of native peoples to reclaim land, and advocates for fair settlement of any claims which are filed.
Thanksgiving Circle of Peace
For six years, Onondaga people and allies have gathered together on Thanksgiving morning on the shore of Onondaga Lake to express thanks for the goodness of the Earth and to each other for our ongoing friendship, as we work side-by-side in peace and hope for healing, justice and environmental restoration. This event draws more participants every year and is a very moving and inspiring experience. Everyone is welcome to join us, dress for the weather, light refreshments

Act Now to Support the Onondaga Nation School and other Indigenous schools
New York State has consistently underfunded the three schools serving Indigenous students on their own nations for decades. We’re urging the NYS Legislature to include the full $60 million requested by this schools to the $35.7 million included in Governor Kathy Hochul’s Executive Budget.

This powerful educational resource, subtitled Readings About the Relationship Between the Onondaga Nation with Central New York USA can be downloaded for free. This link is designed for community activists and organizations. Educational institutions which are using the booklet as part of classes are asked to use the Indigenous Values Initiative (IVI) website for download and to pay the minimal fee of $6 to support NOON and the work of IVI.
